Ridge View High School Football announces that Dennis Daley, former Ridge View Blazer and current Carolina Panther, as well as Greg Olsen, former Wayne Hills Patriot, will be in attendance at Friday night’s on campus varsity football game at Ridge View High School.
Daley and Olsen will be recognized at halftime of the contest. Kickoff for the contest is 7:30pm.
“We are excited to host Wayne Hills High School in ‘The Backyard’ at Ridge View High School. To have a school and program of this magnitude travel from New Jersey to South Carolina is really exciting for our kids, coaches and community,” said Ridge View Head Football Coach Perry Parks.
Dennis Daley was a standout for Ridge View through 2015 and went on to an outstanding college career at The University of South Carolina. Daley was named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll and also garnered a Senior Bowl invitation in 2019. In April, Dennis was drafted in the 6th Round of the NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers and Panthers general manager Marty Hurney has said the following about Daley: “He is strong and he is a guy that we think has a ton of upside. He’s good in the run game. I think he does have good feet and is athletic enough to play left tackle in this league. He is stout and he is strong. He’s got great play strength.”
Greg Olsen starred at Wayne Hills High School and went on to be a standout Tight End at the University of Miami. Olsen was a 1st Round NFL draft choice of the Chicago Bears in 2007 and was traded to the Carolina Panthers in 2011. His time in the NFL has been nothing short of extraordinary. He has the distinction of being the first Tight End in NFL history to record three consecutive seasons with 1,000 receiving yards or more.
Wayne Hills High School is located in Wayne, New Jersey. The Patriots have won 9 State Championships since 2002.
Kickoff is at 7:30pm on Friday, August 30. Tickets are $7. The game will be played on campus at Ridge View High School located at 4801 Hardscrabble Road in Columbia, SC.
