Ridge View Blazer Volleyball defeated Spring Valley on Thursday 3-0, (25-17, 25-18, 25-14) assuring Ridge View a spot in the State Playoffs. The team celebrated their victory by participating in one of their annual philanthropic events on Saturday, The Mayor’s Walk Against Domestic Violence. (See picture attached.) This is a great event that brings awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence. Over the last several years, South Carolina has ranked first or second among the states that yield the highest number of domestic violence related deaths. During the month of October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Coach Haver educates volleyball athletes on how to identify the warning signs of abuse and abusers in an effort to prevent student-athletes from entering into abusive relationships. Blazer Volleyball will continue collecting donation items for SisterCare, a local women’s shelter, this week.
